Healthcare marketing communications agency Onyx Health has appointed Sarah Seilly as its head of medical education.
Ms Seilly joins the Newcastle company from Olympus Medical where, as lead clinical education specialist, she orchestrated programmes in collaboration with clinicians, optimising patient outcomes through innovative educational initiatives. She began her career as a nurse, specialising as a nurse advisor in the field of urology, then moved into supporting sales training and mentoring new colleagues.

The specialist healthcare division of RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has appointed James Bell as a tax manager. Mr Bell joins RMT Healthcare with more than two decades’ experience of working on the personal and business finances of healthcare professionals, with a particular emphasis on the dental sector.
He has worked in different roles with several of the region’s best-known professional services firms and has gained a strong reputation for his work in the dental sector over a number of years.

Property regeneration consultant AspinallVerdi has expanded with a key appointment at its office serving clients in the public and private sectors throughout the North East. Neil Kohli joins the growing practice as a consultant at its base in Newcastle Helix, Newcastle.

He arrives from Mysing Capital Group, a regional upmarket residential developer in the North East, where he worked as a development surveyor on luxury homebuilding projects. Prior to this, Mr Kohli achieved a masters in real estate and a degree in economics with business, both at Northumbria University. He is working towards achieving membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

North East law firm Hay & Kilner has promoted Tom Whitfield to lead its commercial litigation and dispute resolution team Mr Whitfield has been promoted to lead the ten-strong team at the Newcastle firm, which works to resolve clients’ disputes at the earliest possible point, manage risks to their reputations and safeguard their ongoing commercial relationships.
He has over 25 years’ legal experience, gained across a wide range of industry sectors and areas of the law, and joined Hay & Kilner as a partner in 2019. Originally from Yorkshire, his main area of practice has been working on professional negligence cases brought against members of the professional services community.

Northumberland hospitality company The Doxford Group has announced five senior appointments following the opening of its new hotel, The Tempus. Darren McErlain has been appointed as group financial controller, a promotion that will see him support the group’s significant growth, which includes expanding upon its portfolio of two wedding venues and a boutique hotel, based on the 550-acre country estate near Alnwick.

He joined The Doxford Group in March 2022 as a management accountant and was instrumental in implementing several new systems that have contributed towards the group’s growth, and he will now lead a team of four.

Commercial and private client law firm Sweeney Miller Law has added to its senior leadership team with the promotion of head of family law, Rebecca Cresswell, to partner. Ms Cresswell started her career in a personal injury firm but moved to Sweeney Miller, which has offices in Newcastle and Sunderland, during her training in 2016, where she became involved in litigation and family law.
She qualified as a chartered legal executive in 2017 and was promoted to head of the family and litigation departments in May 2020, before cross-qualifying as a solicitor.
Operating between Sweeney Miller’s headquarters in Gosforth and its Sunderland office, she deals with divorce, separation, financial settlements, issues relating to children, nuptial and cohabitation agreements, as well as overseeing a period of significant growth at the firm’s Family Law department.
