Healthcare marketing communications agency Onyx Health has appointed Sarah Seilly as its head of medical education.

Ms Seilly joins the Newcastle company from Olympus Medical where, as lead clinical education specialist, she orchestrated programmes in collaboration with clinicians, optimising patient outcomes through innovative educational initiatives. She began her career as a nurse, specialising as a nurse advisor in the field of urology, then moved into supporting sales training and mentoring new colleagues.

She said: “Medical education is an ongoing journey and one that will continue to evolve through innovative and immersive offerings in the future. To meet the changing needs of a healthcare sector characterised by a reduced workforce and healthcare professionals with limited time, educational content must be accessible 24/7 on multiple platforms to enhance confidence, knowledge, safety, and career progression.

“Collaboration with clinicians will be instrumental in achieving our client’s business objectives, furthering product education, and, most importantly, making a tangible impact on the lives of patients. As we further develop our team’s expertise, we’ll focus on gaining invaluable insights through direct interaction with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders to tailor educational strategies.”

The specialist healthcare division of RMT Accountants & Business Advisors has appointed James Bell as a tax manager. Mr Bell joins RMT Healthcare with more than two decades’ experience of working on the personal and business finances of healthcare professionals, with a particular emphasis on the dental sector.

He has worked in different roles with several of the region’s best-known professional services firms and has gained a strong reputation for his work in the dental sector over a number of years.

He said: “The unique way in which healthcare providers operate and are regulated means they need specialised support and advice to ensure they can manage their personal and professional finances and responsibilities in the most appropriate ways. The speciality in dentistry that I’ve developed through my career and RMT’s commitment to expanding its presence in this sector made coming here a really good career opportunity for me. The firm is living up to its reputation for being an enjoyable place to work with a positive, friendly culture, and I’ve settled in really well.”
