People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions

County Durham-based modular housing manufacturer CoreHaus has promoted Dan Selby to managing director to drive its continued growth and expansion.

Mr Selby originally joined the company as operations manager in 2020 and was instrumental in setting up the production facility at Jade Park, in Murton, near Seaham.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of managing director at CoreHaus. It’s been a pleasure to head up operations for the company over the last two years and be directly involved in everything from launching the factory and building the team to developing the product and securing our first commercial projects. I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundations we have in place and driving this next phase of growth.”

Castle Building Services has appointed Martin Smith as senior mechanical estimator and Brian Carr as senior quantity surveyor.

Mr Smith will work with pre-construction manager Richard Flynn and estimating director Barry Beck, while Mr Carr will report into commercial manager, Andrew Heron.

Castle Building Services operates across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and the appointments follow a raft of new starters during 2022. Managing director Andrew Dawson said: “We welcome Martin and Brian to the team. We continue to have a rigorous recruitment process, so that we bring on board new colleagues that fit our business culture and who feel supported on their journey with us.”

Robson Laidler Accountants in Newcastle and Durham has promoted Jack Spoor as a new associate director.

Mr Spoor has worked at the firm since he qualified in 2015 as a chartered certified accountant. Starting his career in Robson Laidler’s audit and assurance team, he then developed and grew business advisory services at the firm, in particular research and development, cashflow mapping and business coaching.
