Chloe Toogood and Katie Woodward have joined North East web design and development specialist Sleeky, as project coordinator and account manager alongside new web developer, Dean Pifar, and graphic designer, Kate Gunia.
Currently employing 14 people and targeting the £2m turnover mark in 2023, Newcastle-based Sleeky has recruited the additional staff to strengthen its team to meet demand for graphic design, ecommerce services and digital marketing from clients including the Malhotra Group, Newcastle University, Newcastle City and Gateshead councils and the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Managing director David Chapman, who founded the company in 2011, said: “We continue to see demand from all sectors of the market for high quality digital marketing and website expertise and resources.

Developer Lovell Partnerships has appointed a new head of land and partnerships for its recently launched North East region.
Phil Jones brings 25 years of experience in planning and land acquisitions, as well as broader development work to the role.
Mr Jones has worked for private and public sector organisations at a local, regional and national level, including Homes England, One North East and several local councils before joining Lichfields, where he was a director for five years.
Mr Jones, who joins Lovell from Thirteen Group, said: “It’s fantastic to be joining Lovell Partnerships during what is a really exciting time for the company, following its recent expansion into the North East. The role will see me help to drive forward the company’s ambitious growth plans and build on the team’s successes so far. Two young solicitors are taking their next steps in their careers after joining North East law firm Hay & Kilner.
Jessica Cousin and Ashleigh Barrett have joined the Newcastle-headquartered practice’s corporate and commercial, and commercial property teams respectively.
Ms Cousin holds a Master’s degree in Law from Northumbria University and has specialised in financial and banking contracts during her career so far. She is focussing on commercial contract work for Hay & Kilner’s business clients. Ms Barrett meanwhile worked as a paralegal after completing her studies, specialising in residential conveyancing work, while since qualifying as a solicitor, she has worked in corporate conveyancing on a range of property projects.
Jonathan Waters, managing partner at Hay & Kilner, said: “Recruiting young solicitors with great potential and giving them the support and training they need to realise it is a crucial part of our long-term growth plans. Daniel Flint has joined the building team at Avison Young’s Newcastle office after more than a decade in the capital.
Mr Flint brings project management experience from many industry sectors, having spent 12 years working in London for a variety of fit-out firms and contractors. He will be involved with all aspects of project management on major development projects throughout the north east and beyond.
He said: ”Avison Young is involved in some of the largest, most high-profile developments in the region. The opportunity to lead in industry, expand my knowledge and work on cutting edge projects is extremely appealing.”

Cloud specialist Howell Technology Group (HTG) has announced further senior appointments.
The Hebburn-based business has appointed Stephen Hackers as head of security and principal cyber security architect. A qualified ethical hacker, his role will see him grow the cyber security team and expand HTG’s services to help clients stay ahead of the increasing number and sophistication of security threats.
Louise Roughley steps into the newly created role of head of HR, with a brief to drive the successful growth of HTG through its people and culture practices.

Planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore, now Stantec, has expanded the team at its Newcastle office with four new recruits.
Michelle Robinson joins after a career in local authority planning spanning more than 20 years, while Amy Hindson joins as a planning associate, having previously worked at Avison Young in Newcastle.
Matt Hewitt joins as a senior planner, after working at David Lock Associates in Milton Keynes before relocating to the North East. Meanwhile, Ewan Darroch starts as a graduate planner, having recently finished an MSc in Urban Planning at Newcastle University.
