North East lighting business Artech Lighting has secured a team of quality new recruits to capitalise on its rapid growth.
The company has welcomed new sales director Sean Kirkland, designer Georgia Barker and apprentice Lewis Cowley to its Durham City HQ in recent weeks.
Artech Managing Director, Stuart Hylton said: “It’s great to welcome so much fresh talent to the business, I have no doubt they will add enthusiasm and bring new ideas to our team.

Richard Warrior has been appointed as wind farm manager with the renewable energy arm of North East employer The Banks Group.
Mr Warrior, who has spent more than three decades working for Banks’ minerals and mining operations, takes on the new title at Banks Renewables, where he is now responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of five of its onshore wind farms.

He said: “This is a totally different role to what I’ve done previously, but I’m really enjoying the challenge of learning about a new industry and getting to grips with all the different parts of my job. Many of the problem-solving skills that I’ve developed over the years are just as applicable in my new role as they were previously, and while there’s been a lot to learn to get fully up to speed with my new role, I’m being well supported by my new colleagues and getting lots of training that’s helping me build on my engineering knowledge every day.

Moody Logistics and Storage has welcomed its youngest ever Class 2 LGV driver after he completed the company’s bespoke fast-track apprentice training scheme. Alex Elrod, 20, from Blyth, will help drive down the average age of drivers at the company, which was previously 44 compared with the national average of 56.
Before joining the Northumberland-based company, Mr Elrod was a warehouse operative at the Port of Blyth, but he always had held ambitions to pursue a career as a HGV lorry driver.
He said: “I am thrilled that I have achieved my dream of moving into a driver’s role in the logistics industry. It has been fantastic getting the opportunity to develop my skills at Moody’s, which is a growing business that values high quality driver training.
“I have learned so much already but appreciate there is more to take on board as I settle into my job as a Class 2 driver. I am hoping to further my career at Moody’s, which places a lot of emphasis on the career and personal development of its employees.”
Michael Stowe has been appointed as a new wealth manager at financial advisory firm Lowes Financial Management. Mr Stowe will be involved in developing his relationships with current and new clients, working from both the Newcastle and Middlesbrough offices.

He has been part of the wider Lowes team for almost 10 years, starting in an administration role and working his way up, learning the business in various roles before becoming a Lowes consultant.
He said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at Lowes during such an exciting period of growth and progress. During the last several years there has been a lot of change within the financial advisory sector from legislation and regulatory requirements to the opportunities that technology has created.”
Newcastle planning and development consultancy Lichfields has promoted Alex Kennedy to senior planner as the firm continues to develop its national operations and see strong revenue growth.
The move comes as Lichfields is marking its 60th anniversary year in 2022. The firm, which employs 215 people working across nine regional offices, has hit fee revenues of £22.6m and is aiming to pass the £25m milestone before the end of this year.
Chief executive James Fennell said: “This promotion reflects the great work our staff do for our clients and the pride we take in creating a work environment to nurture our talent.”
Air and fluid power specialist Thorite has appointed Gregg Blyth as business development manager for the North East region.
Mr Blyth, of Newcastle, has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and business development, having previously worked for companies including Nike, Yell 海角视频 and, most recently, JTI (Japan Tobacco International). He will be based at Thorite’s North Shields branch, in Orion Business Park.
He said: “I believe there are many opportunities to develop and grow the North East region for Thorite. I’m looking forward to learning, progressing, and developing as an individual in my career within a more technical and challenging sector.”
