People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions of the week

Firms including Haines Watts, HTG and Parkdean Resorts feature in this week's round-up

Accountancy firm Haines Watts has bolstered its not-for-profit offering with a trio of senior appointments. Craig Henderson and Louise Cottam join the team as associate partners, having previously worked with a mix of not-for-profits and public sector clients. Mr Henderson will lead on charity audits and independent examinations, and Ms Cottam is a specialist in not-for-profit tax. Faye Birtwisle also joins Haines Watts as a senior VAT manager, having worked at a Big Four firm for the last 15 years.

Managing partner Donna Bulmer said: “I’m delighted to welcome more great people to our not-for-profit team. Over the last year we’ve welcomed more charity and not-for-profit clients to Haines Watts, as well as continuing to support our long standing clients. Craig, Louise and Faye’s specialisms will be invaluable when it comes to supporting our clients in the months and years ahead."

Secure cloud specialist Howell Technology Group (HTG) has made two appointments to its senior leadership team.

George Galloway join as sales and marketing director, bringing with him a 20-year background in senior commercial roles within the IT industry, and HTG’s former programme and operations manager Niall Quinn is promoted to operations director. The Hebburn-based business recently announced plans to double its office space to allow the creation of another 20 new roles across its technical, delivery and back office teams.

CEO Kevin Howell said: “This is a pivotal moment for HTG, as we restructure and strengthen our senior leadership team to enable our growth. We are very pleased to have George on board, and to recognise Niall’s achievement and ambition with a senior appointment.”

Parkdean Resorts has promoted Louise Harrison to head of customer operations. Having worked in the role of customer service operations manager since September 2020 and managed the customer service and customer experience support teams, she will now take on a leading role in heading up the company’s customer engagement centre.

She will be responsible for both the sales and service departments, covering all parts of the holidaymaker journey including new bookings, amendments, queries and customer support.

She said: “I’m delighted to have been promoted to head of customer operations and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into my new role. I’m passionate about helping our customers through every step of their journey with us so they can go on to create amazing memories at our parks, and I love the feeling of satisfaction that comes with knowing we’ve helped this happen.”
