PwC has strengthened its deals team in the North East with a senior appointment.
Dean Stoyanov, a senior manager in the debt and capital advisory team, has recently joined PwC’s North East Deals team where he will be supporting local businesses that are looking to raise new debt finance, refinance their existing facilities or are going through a financial restructure.
Mr Stoyanov is a qualified chartered accountant with over seven years of deals experience as both an adviser and a banker, having previously worked in the leveraged finance team at HSBC across Yorkshire and North East.
Jonathan Greenaway, the Newcastle office senior partner said: “Dean’s appointment highlights our ongoing commitment to not only invest in and grow our Deals capability across the North East but also to bring in additional expertise to enhance our existing offerings to better serve our clients.”

Newcastle-based PR agency W North has appointed three new members to its growing team.
W North, part of W Communications, has hired three Newcastle University graduates – Hannah Whyte, Laura Greatrex and Thomas Pearson – taking its headount to 11.

The Twice Brewed Inn has appointed Laura Daniels as events manager, presiding over a calendar which will mix public, private and corporate gatherings and activities.
Based near Bardon Mill, The Twice Brewed Inn has long been a popular destination for walkers and locals alike and the venue widened its appeal with the opening of neighbouring Twice Brewed Brew House with its own Tap Room in 2017.
Ms Daniels, who spent two years working in management consultancy before becoming a private chef and running her own cookery school in Wandsworth Town, said: “Having moved up to the North East from London last year, it’s a real treat to be working in such a stunning location and I’m very excited about the plans we will be putting in place in 2020.”
North East housing association Bernicia has changed its executive team structure to support ambitious plans for the future, with the appointment of Andrea Malcolm as executive director of people, homes and communities.
Bernicia, based in Ashington, Northumberland, manages 14,000 homes from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Redcar, employing 550 staff.
The newly created post aligns Bernicia’s people and housing services as the organisation revises its corporate structure to work more closely with tenants to shape the business and services it delivers.

Ms Malcolm, who began her housing career 28 years ago, is promoted into her new position after two years as director of people, culture and communications.
She said: “Bernicia is finalising bold new service delivery plans to meet all our stakeholders’ needs so it’s an exciting time for me in my new role to be able to drive this agenda forward.”
Summers-Inman, the award-winning construction and property consultancy, has made three senior appointments at its Newcastle office, bringing its total team at the Newcastle HQ to 48.
Andrew Rapmund joins as an associate director and brings with him a wealth of experience within the construction and property consultancy sector, gained at prominent national firms. He will lead the project management team in the Northern region.
Former Summers-Inman employee, John Harvey, has returned after a spell of six years away from the firm, as senior project manager. Tom Borsoi also joins as senior chartered quantity surveyor after relocating from London.

Teesside’s shipping community has appointed senior business leaders from two of the region’s most successful port facilities to represent the industry.
Gary Dawson, AV Dawson managing director, and Garry O’Malley, Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT) managing director take on the chair and vice chair roles for the industry body, the Tees and Hartlepool Port Users Association (THPUA).
