Coodes Solicitors has expanded its award-winning conveyancing team in South East Cornwall. Teresa Scoular joins the South West law firm’s Liskeard office, bringing 30 years of conveyancing experience.
Teresa began her conveyancing career in law firms in Berkshire. She moved to Cornwall in 2007 and joins Coodes from the Launceston branch of Parnalls, where she was a residential conveyancing manager.
Over the last three decades, Teresa has built up experience of property sales and purchases, including handling matters relating to freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered titles.
KPMG has appointed Andrew Morgan as its South region Chair, responsible for the strategy across Reading, Bristol, Southampton, Plymouth, Cardiff and surrounding areas. Andrew Morgan succeeds Karen Witton, who has stepped down after four years to focus on a global role for the firm’s Tax function.
Andrew has more than 30 years’ experience working across the firm’s operations in the South, leading relationships with a range of corporates from 海角视频 PLCs, large overseas owned multinationals and privately owned businesses. Specialising in tax, he advises clients in areas such as transfer pricing, corporate restructuring and has significant experience of settling major investigations with HMRC. Andrew has been with KPMG for the duration of his career, first joining in 1988, and will continue his role as senior partner for Reading; a position he has held since 2012.
Following nine years of dedicated service as Chair of the Torbay Hi Tech Forum by Martin Foulger, Dr Andrew Robertson, Senior Vice President at Gooch & Housego has been appointed.
Dr Andrew Robertson has been part of the Hi Tech Forum for four years and steps up from Vice Chair to Chair. Andrew is also a member of the 海角视频 Photonics Leadership Group.

Exeter-based financial experts Old Mill have appointed Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow member of the Personal Finance Society, Neil Rushton, to the Wealth Management team.
The 39-year-old has more than 18 years’ experience in financial services having held roles across the sector. Neil joins Old Mill from independent financial planning firm Citimark, where he looked after a portfolio of high net worth clients, helping them explore aspirations and achieve financial independence.
In his new role, Neil - who specialises in retirement and estate planning - will work within the Wealth Management team providing financial advice and guidance to high net worth clients either nearing retirement or already retired, to help them achieve their ambitions.
Director Paul Cressy has been appointed as head of Savills Exeter office.
Paul has worked for Savills for 15 years and is head of its rural management division in the south of England.

The National Beef Association has announced Robert Venner, managing partner at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, as the new chairman of the NBA South West Committee.
Mr Venner was appointed to the role following a committee meeting on Monday 13th January 2020. The NBA South West Committee is a proactive body representing the interest of beef producer members throughout the region. It makes up one of the six key regional bodies under the National Beef Association umbrella.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr Venner said: “I am delighted and privileged to accept the role of chair of the South West Committee, and look forward to drive forward and represent the interests of NBA members and the beef sector on both a regional and national level.”
He continued; "This committee has been proactive in representing the sector, raising awareness and highlighting concerns both to the industry and to the consumer. I look forward to further developing and supporting this work."
Stagecoach has announced a new managing director for its bus operations in the south west of England.
Mike Watson has been confirmed as the new Stagecoach South West Managing Director after taking the role on an interim basis in November.
Mike has almost 25 years’ experience of the bus industry and has held a number of senior positions within Stagecoach, including time spent as Managing Director of
Stagecoach South West between 2013 and 2015. Mike began his career in 1996 in the service planning department at London Transport Buses and then had roles within Go Ahead and Arriva before joining Stagecoach as Operations Director at the North East business in November 2011. Mike has recently been part of Stagecoach’s business development team and has lived with his family in Devon since 2013.
Wise Goose School of Coaching has appinted Sybille Schiffmann as new Chair on their board. Her role is to act as a sounding board, working with Wise Goose’s founder Helen Sieroda to assess the strategy and goals for growth, including exploring new opportunities.
Helen met Sybille through Exeter University, Centre for Leadership Studies, where they were both affiliates, and where the duo developed a close-working relationship. Following her graduation from the University of Bath, Gemma has worked on a number of prestigious projects including the Palace of Westminster, Halley V1 Antarctic Research Station and BBC EastEnders film set redevelopment.
Gemma said: “In 2016 I moved to Cyprus for three years with my husband. During this time, I was working with AECOM on a project for the British High Commission in Nicosia. This involved the assessment of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) buildings in Cyprus to ascertain their capacity to resist seismic loadings and recommend strengthening works where required.”

Crown Golf Property, the owner of the St Mellion Estate in Cornwall, has appointed Howard Jones in the new role of Managing Director to lead the luxury family and golf resort. Following a restructure of the senior management team, Ian Davies the former GM, has left the business.
Howard joins St Mellion from Born Free where he was CEO of the international animal conservation and welfare charity. He was formerly a director at the Eden Project. He started his career as an Officer in the British military.
Howard is tasked with growing the St Mellion business, which includes an 80-key hotel, the Nicklaus and Kernow championship golf courses, 28-holiday cottages, gym, spa and conference space.

The FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) has just chosen a new chairman to head up the group’s local grassroots teams throughout the South West.
