People on the move - Devon and Cornwall's key appointments and promotions

Businesses and organisations in a raft of sectors across the region have been announcing new arrivals

Coodes Solicitors has expanded its award-winning conveyancing team in South East Cornwall. Teresa Scoular joins the South West law firm’s Liskeard office, bringing 30 years of conveyancing experience.

Teresa began her conveyancing career in law firms in Berkshire. She moved to Cornwall in 2007 and joins Coodes from the Launceston branch of Parnalls, where she was a residential conveyancing manager.

Over the last three decades, Teresa has built up experience of property sales and purchases, including handling matters relating to freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered titles.

KPMG has appointed Andrew Morgan as its South region Chair, responsible for the strategy across Reading, Bristol, Southampton, Plymouth, Cardiff and surrounding areas. Andrew Morgan succeeds Karen Witton, who has stepped down after four years to focus on a global role for the firm’s Tax function.

Andrew has more than 30 years’ experience working across the firm’s operations in the South, leading relationships with a range of corporates from º£½ÇÊÓÆµ PLCs, large overseas owned multinationals and privately owned businesses. Specialising in tax, he advises clients in areas such as transfer pricing, corporate restructuring and has significant experience of settling major investigations with HMRC. Andrew has been with KPMG for the duration of his career, first joining in 1988, and will continue his role as senior partner for Reading; a position he has held since 2012.

Following nine years of dedicated service as Chair of the Torbay Hi Tech Forum by Martin Foulger, Dr Andrew Robertson, Senior Vice President at Gooch & Housego has been appointed.

Dr Andrew Robertson has been part of the Hi Tech Forum for four years and steps up from Vice Chair to Chair. Andrew is also a member of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Photonics Leadership Group.

Dr Andrew Robertson said: “I’m very much looking forward to leading the Hi Tech Forum and working with the Torbay’s growing and ambitious hi tech cluster.
