Law firm DLA Piper has made two partner promotions in its Birmingham office.

Simon Wright has been with the firm since 2010, having originally joined as a trainee, and is part of its corporate team.

He has extensive cross-border mergers and acquisitions experience, acting for corporate and institutional vendors and purchasers across Europe and the US.

Mr Wright also has experience advising on private equity transactions, including management and secondary buyouts, exits and debt reorganisations.

George Mortimer has been at DLA Piper since 2007, working in the litigation and regulatory team and playing a key role in the firm's work in the insurance sector, advising insurers and intermediaries.

He has also been part of the practice's Brexit team for insurance sector clients, providing thought leadership and issues arising as a result of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ leaving the EU.

Birmingham managing partner Trevor Ivory said: "Simon and George are both wonderful additions to the partnership.
