New managing director at Readings estate agents

New MD replaces Peter Woodthorpe who has decided to scale back his work after 35 years in the business

Readings managing director Will Ravenhill

Leicester estate agents Readings has appointed a new managing director.

The property company and chartered surveyors, which is based in Granby Street, has appointed Will Ravenhill to the position.

He replaces Peter Woodthorpe who has decided to scale back his work after 35 years in the business, but who will remain a big part of the firm.

Mr Ravenhill has been an estate agent since 1988, starting his career with Spencers and working out of branches in Leicester, Blaby, Northampton and Market Harborough.

He joined the firm of PG Reading in 1998, with his father David Johnson and the late Peter Reading, and played a big part in the expansion of the company over the years.

That involved mergers with local firms Norman Hope and Mann in 2005 and Peter James Estates in 2011.

The result of the mergers was the establishment of the current Readings Property Group.

Mr Ravenhill said: “I’m thrilled to be taking over the reins from Peter as he takes the richly deserved opportunity to address his work life balance.
