A manufacturer has appointed a new managing director to lead its European HQ in Birmingham.

HydraForce Hydraulics, which makes high-performance hydraulic valves and manifold systems, has promoted Jon Bradley to the role.

He will lead a team of 700 staff at its base at the Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Aston.

Mr Bradley joined the US-based firm as director of global quality excellence in 2016 since when he has helped to raise its profile globally.

He started his working life as an engineering apprentice before embarking on a career in the manufacturing sector which has spanned three decades in fields such as aerospace, automotive and off-highway hydraulic engineering, in both the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and US.

Mr Bradley said: "I am extremely honoured to be asked to follow in the footsteps of former managing directors Tony Brown and Peter Macdonald, extending the founder Jim Brizzolara's HydraForce legacy.

"I will continue to work with the team to deliver the benefits that my predecessors have put in place, carrying them out in the spirit of HydraForce."
