Movers and shakers: A round-up of appointments from across Staffordshire

Three manufacturing businesses and a chartered surveyors have all recently welcomed new recruits

Alpha Manufacturing has welcomed Michael Whitfield to the business as commercial manager.

The Hixon-based firm has appointed Michael to the role to support its growth and drive the company forward.

In his new role, Michael – who worked for JCB for 15 years – will work alongside commercial director, Robin Eley and technical sales engineer, Corey Hammond, to build relationships with new and existing customers.

Michael said: "As someone who is passionate about the engineering and manufacturing industry, I've been following the evolution of Alpha Manufacturing, and the whole Bri-Stor Group for a long time, and have always been impressed. Something that really stands out is the way Alpha values its staff, and has such strong relationships with its customers.

"I have no doubt Alpha has an exciting future ahead as it continues to grow and I look forward to being part of that journey."

Tyre giant Michelin has appointed Conor Twomey as communications director for the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Ireland.

The role encompasses press and public relations, social media, events and internal communications across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and the Republic of Ireland and covers the entire Michelin brand portfolio, including car, motorcycle, bicycle, truck, bus, agriculture and construction tyres, the world-renowned Michelin Guide as well as Michelin’s growing interests in sustainable industries such as hydrogen power and high-tech materials.
