Movers and shakers: A bumper round-up of appointments from across Staffordshire

A building society, law firms and a travel agency have recently welcomed new recruits

New recruits: Emma Barnes, Joanne Webster-Sisson and Jennifer O’Brien

A building society has welcomed a new chair of the board.

Joanne Hindle has been appointed to the role at Stafford Railway Building Society.

Since 2008, Joanne has held a range of non-executive roles which currently include chair of the Shepherds Friendly Society, a non-executive at the Bank of London and the Middle East and until recently, chair of Holmesdale Building Society.

Joanne succeeds Colin Lloyd who retired as chair at the end of the society's AGM in February 2021.

She said: "I am very much looking forward at the chance to working with an organisation continuing on its growth journey.

"Growth comes in all dimensions, an increased product portfolio, new channels to market and increasing distribution channels. The building blocks are already in place and we will continue to drive the evolution, not revolution of what we already do exceptionally well."

Vice-chair Karen McCormick added: "I and the board are delighted to welcome Joanne Hindle as our new chair. Her considerable breadth of knowledge, experience and leadership in the financial services sector will be invaluable as we continue our journey of sustainable and profitable growth."

Elsewhere, a solicitors firm is now offering personal injury advice to clients after appointing Jennifer O’Brien to head up the new department.
