Mortgage giant opens new learning and development centre in Derby

It will help meet demand from candidates pursuing a career in the financial services industry

A national mortgage broker headquarted in Derby has opened a new learning and development in the city to help keep up with the growing number of people looking to pursue a career in the financial services industry.

Mortgage Advice Bureau has created the new facility in a building not far from its Pride Park headquarters.

The learning and development centre will allow up to 20 learners to undertake their courses in a purpose-built training environment.

It is a two-floor facility where the top floor will be used for course delivery, while the bottom floor will boast a recording studio to shoot all the e-learning packages and tools for learners to use prior to taking part in a course.

The mortgage intermediary brand, which offers a range of mortgage services, currently employs more than 200 staff at its Derby headquarters, who support a network  of more than 1,400 advisers nationwide.

Overall, the firm has grown its workforce by a third over the last three years adding more than 60 new people to the business.

The new building comes on the back of the success of the Mortgage Advice Bureau training academy, which in recent years has seen significant growth.

More than 300 people have come through the academy to become fully qualified mortgage and protection advisers.
