Shakespeare Martineau law firm has promoted two people to head up its Leicester office.

Corporate partner Lisa Botterill and residential development partner Louise Ingram will share the role of office head, taking over after a decade of leadership from Roy Botterill. He remains with the firm as corporate partner.

Meanwhile, corporate expert Roger Harcourt will continue his position as head of the Nottingham hub for a further three years. The East Midlands offices employ more than 250 people.

Lisa Botterill joined the Shakespeare Martineau Leicester office in 2017, having been a partner at Nelsons, in New Walk, Leicester from 2014.

Prior to that she worked with Harvey Ingram, also in New Walk, then helped open Shakespeare's original satellite office there, before its merger with Harvey Ingram.

She said: “I’d like to thank Roy for his sterling leadership over the past 10 years, for helping to shape the Leicester office and steer it to its market-leading position in Leicester and beyond.

“Both Louise and I look forward to taking on the challenge and continuing Roy’s great work.”

Shakespeare Martineau managing director Victoria Tester said: “Location means a lot to us and our clients and, unlike other firms that are retreating from local office footprints, we are expanding.
