Lawyers from law firm Shakespeares are heading for the Pyrenees this weekend to raise funds for two Midlands charities.

Six lawyers will be cycling to the top of the Col du Tourmalet in southern France as part of the Mattioli Woods Executive Quest 2013.

The team is made up of Alex Ryan, Jeremy Clayton and Andrew Humphries from the Birmingham office and Andrew Wilkinson, Abe Mee and Sean Moran from the firm’s Leicester office.

The Tourmalet is not a climb for the faint-hearted and regularly features in the Tour de France.

It is a tough climb with an average grade of almost 8% and with final sections averaging of 10.5% with some sections at an incline of 13%.

Legal director Andrew Wilkinson says: “It's going to be tough but it is all going to be worthwhile as we're raising money for two great charities - Loros and Prostaid.

"They both do fantastic work which will make the sweating, climbing and lycra all worth it!”
