Law firm Slater and Gordon to close Leeds office

Slater and Gordon was granted a º£½ÇÊÓƵ licence in 2012 and separated from its AXS-listed Australian parent company in 2017 to become an independent firm

Law firm Slater and Gordon º£½ÇÊÓƵ has confirmed it is to close its Leeds office.

The personal injury firm, which also has offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London, has grown its presence in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ following a series of acquisitions over the last three years.

Slater and Gordon was granted a º£½ÇÊÓƵ licence in 2012 and separated from its AXS-listed Australian parent company in 2017 to become an independent firm.

In May 2018, Slater and Gordon announced plans to invest £30m in digitising legal services with the aim to strengthen its position in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

A spokeperson for the law firm said: “We have introduced new technology and processes that allow us to work more efficiently and provide a better experience for our customers.

The spokeperson added it will “relocate” the work conducted at the Leeds office to “other locations”.

The news comes after Slater and Gordon said in January it is of its º£½ÇÊÓƵ branches.

More than 50 staff providing legal and support services at its Derby and Failsworth branches were notified they may be made redundant if the law firm decides not to renew the leases.
