Law firm Freeths has launched a new planning practice in Birmingham.
Cairo Nickolls has been hired from city firm Gowlings to set up and spearhead the new venture.
He has more than 12 years of experience, working across a wide range of planning matters including housebuilding, industrial, logistics and regeneration, acting for developers, public authorities and landowners.

He has a particular focus on advising on planning strategy, Section 106 agreements, appeals and inquiries.

Mr Nickolls has led on a number of major planning projects including advising Bloor Homes on various residential schemes throughout England and acting for Bellway Homes.
Led by Paul Brailsford, partner and national head of planning and environment, the team in Colmore Circus will work with Mr Nickolls to develop a practice across the West Midlands.
