A senior family lawyer has been promoted to partner at Timms Solicitors which has offices in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter, Burton-upon-Trent, Swadlincote and Ashby.

Dee Khunkhuna specialises in childcare law and advocacy and has been with Timms for seven years.
She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and Advanced Family Law Panel and deals with complex children matters and other areas of family law.
She joins existing partners Fiona Moffat, Jo Robinson and Lisa Collett.
Dee said: “I am honoured to be joining the partnership and to play a greater role in the firm’s ambitions to do new and great things.”

Lemon and Lime Interiors has bolstered its team of sales consultants with the addition of experienced residential agent Victoria Oldham to oversee clients in the south.
The appointment comes as the home staging company continues to attract talent from the wider property sector and enhance its services across the 海角视频 and internationally.
Following a senior associate role at surveying consultancy Fisher German, where she was head of residential agency for the Midlands country market.
She has more recently supported clients across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire and will continue to work in their high-end markets for Lemon and Lime.

Midlands law firm Shakespeare Martineau has strengthened its growth ambitions with the appointment of two business development partners in Nottingham and Birmingham.
Lois Pryor and Perri Blakey will focus on developing relationships and delivering exceptional client service, supporting the legal teams in delivering growth and creating business value.
Lois will look after the firm’s residential development, commercial property and development, building communities, build to rent, and logistics legal teams, and Perri will support the firm’s corporate department, as well as its East Midlands and South Yorkshire office hubs in Nottingham, Leicester, Lincoln and Sheffield.
Lois and Perri will primarily be based at the firm’s Birmingham and Nottingham hubs respectively, but will work with teams nationally across multiple services, markets and cities.
Perri – who was previously at national law firm Browne Jacobson, supporting its SME and entrepreneur target market – said: “The firm has a fantastic reputation in the East Midlands through its Nottingham and Leicester hubs, and has recently expanded into Sheffield and Lincoln, both present fantastic new opportunities for growth as we build our presence and credentials in these cities.”
Finch Consulting
Leicestershire-based health and safety engineering risk management experts Finch Consulting have brought in chartered mechanical engineer Paul Wood.
Paul will be joining Finch as a senior consultant from his most recent role as an engineering manager of asset management with the Peel Ports Group.
He will be help the Ashby business develop and roll-out a range of asset management focused services such as asset life extension studies, maintenance reviews, asset management benchmarking, project technical support/advice and failure analysis/corrective action plans.
He has experience in industries including manufacturing, heavy engineering and maritime environments.
At the beginning of the year, Finch also recruited Rachael Robinson into the nucleus of the business, the Finch Support Team, providing support for the consultants in project delivery.
Encore Personnel
Midlands recruitment agency Encore Personnel, has announced the appointment of a new director to its board as it continues its move to a new leadership team.
Lucy Kuc steps into the role of sales director having been head of client solutions for the managed services division of the business.
It follows the appointment of Pete Taylor as managing director in 2019, who has set out new directives for the business as it moves forward from the pandemic, including its new sales direction.
Headquartered in Leicester, Encore employs more than 200 colleagues across its 10 branches plus 24 managed services sites around the country.
Lucy joined Encore in 2017 as a business development manager with a hunger for developing the agency’s selling force toward new horizons and enhancing Encore’s reputation for being the best staffing solutions provider in the Midlands.
Nelsons
East Midlands-based law firm Nelsons has boosted its expert dispute resolution team in Leicester, after welcoming a new associate and solicitor as part of its continued expansion in the city.
Hayden Mellowship has more than seven years’ experience and qualified as a solicitor in 2021 while working at Rutherfords LLP in Tamworth.
He specialises in commercial litigation, while also focusing on commercial property disputes and insolvency.
He said: “I am thrilled to have joined a law firm with such an excellent reputation.
“It is clear to me that Nelsons is a law firm that is committed to empowering its clients and puts them at the forefront of everything they do.

Hayden graduated from the University of Wolverhampton, with an undergraduate in Law (LLB), before going on to complete his masters at the same university and then his professional skills course at the University of Law.
While studying, he completed work experience at Rutherfords LLP where he would eventually complete his training to become a solicitor.
CECA Midlands
Civil engineering firms across the Midlands have a new voice to represent them – at a key time for the industry.
Lorraine Gregory has been appointed as the new regional director for the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) for the Midlands, succeeding Dawn Karakatsanis, who has held the post for four-and-a-half years.
CECA Midlands supports its members –from big civil engineering and construction firms to niche contractors – with training, networking and industry updates.
The organisation also provides a voice for members to key decision-makers, including central government, both directly and through the national CECA office in London.
Lorraine, who has joined from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), said she had a tough act to follow but would build on the foundations that have been laid by Dawn and the CECA Midlands Council.
She said: “I love this industry and I love the Midlands so this is the perfect role for me and I will give companies – no matter how big or small – my everything to ensure this sector continues to thrive in our region.
UHY Hacker Young
THREE university graduates have recently joined UHY Hacker Young’s Nottingham office as they embark on a career in accountancy.
The appointments form part of UHY’s commitment to employing local and upcoming talent in the region.
Luke Wilson, Jack Lee and Alexander Nowab have joined as chartered accountant trainees, bolstering UHY’s audit and accounts team.
They are supporting the firm as it continues to grow to meet the increased demand for its corporate and private financial client services.
Luke Wilson joined after graduating with a degree in mathematics with statistics from the University of Nottingham. He said: “I wanted to work at a firm that had a roster of well-known clients while being able to get to know everyone across a close-knit team. At UHY the firm is well-sized to achieve both aims.
“Working with lots of clients in different sectors means that the audit will be different each time. It gives me the opportunity to learn what sectors I like to work with, so that I may choose to specialise in them in the future.”
Browne Jacobson
Browne Jacobson has strengthened its independent health and social care team with the addition of corporate finance lawyer Vicky Tomlinson.
Vicky, who is currently based in the firm’s Nottingham corporate finance team, has over 10 years’ experience advising on all corporate M&A matters including share and business acquisitions and disposals, investments , group reorganisations and general company law matters.
Senior associate Vicky will work closely with Clare Auty, head of commercial health and lead partner for Browne Jacobson’s independent health and social care practice.
It follows a busy period for the firm over the last 12 months which has seen it complete a number of major transactions in the healthcare sector.
