Business advisory and accountancy firm Cowgills has recruited three new senior advisors to its tax team.
Emma Bowles joins from Grant Thornton as tax manager and Lyndsey Hay joins from Booth Ainsworth in Stockport as a personal tax manager.
Abigail O’Neill, previously at Ernst and Young, joins as VAT manager.

David McKnight has been named managing director of the Co-operative Federal Retail and Trading Services Ltd (FRTS).

FRTS, jointly owned by the Co-op Group and the independent retail Co-op Societies, is the buying group for independent Co-ops to provide greater scale to the co-operative movement and serves over 4,000 co-operative outlets across the 海角视频.
Its commercial buying operation and separate logistics team, run by the Co-op Group in Manchester.

Ball & Berry
Manchester-based approved inspector and building control specialist Ball & Berry has appointed Richard Cymler as regional director.
In the role, Mr Cymler will oversee the expansion of Ball & Berry's new Birmingham office, which opened in March this year, lead on high-profile projects in the city and lead a growing team of approved inspectors and admin staff.

Mulbury
Cheshire and Manchester-based housing developer Mulbury has appointed Deborah McLaughlin as a non-executive director and strategic advisor.
Former regional director of the Homes and Communities Agency, Ms McLaughlin became an independent consultant after leaving her role as managing director of GL Hearn in April 2019.
In her new role, she will advise Mulbury’s senior management team as part of its plans to deliver up to 3,000 new homes in the North West over the next five years.
She will continue to advise other organisations as part of her independent consultancy work.

Davis Blank Furniss
Manchester and Glossop-based law firm Davis Blank Furniss has appointed Karen Yates as head of private client.
In her new role, Ms Yates will focus on wealth and succession planning, inheritance tax advice, trust creation and administration, wills, lasting powers of attorney and estate administration.
Ms Yates, who joins the firm from Napthens in Preston, will be primarily based at the firm’s Manchester head office.

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced the appointment of partner Laura Harper at its Manchester office.
Ms Harper joins the firm with more than 20 years experience in commercial law. She joins from Shoosmiths where she led the IP team in Manchester as a partner.

JLL has appointed Andy Pexton as new lead director for its north west industrial and logistics agency team.
Mr Pexton will join the team in the new year from Avison Young, where he was head of industrial in the north west.
