Insurance firm Endsleigh has relocated to new headquarters in Gloucestershire.

The business, which specialises in providing cover for college and university students, and its workforce of 110 staff will now be based at the refurbished Quadrangle building, next to the Town Hall on the corner of Imperial Square and the Promenade shopping street.

Endsleigh had been based at its previous head office on Shurdington Road on the outskirts of the town for the past 14 years.

The firm, which was originally founded by the National Union for Students in 1965 before arriving in Gloucestershire five years later, said the move was part of a drive to “recruit and retain the best industry talent”.

Chief executive Alison Meckiffe said: “As a business, we have major growth ambitions and plan to become a top three broker across all of our specialist markets. To achieve that, we need to attract the best talent not only from across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, but also across the industry more broadly.

“The Quadrangle is a large step towards realising those ambitions. It is in the centre of a brilliant town and has excellent transport links. We’re very excited about the move.”

Tim Smith, partner at John Ryde Commercial, who acted on behalf of the Quadrangle’s landlord, added: “We’re very excited to welcome Endsleigh as the newest tenant to the Quadrangle.

“As a well-known and established Cheltenham employer, it’s great that they’ve chosen the refurbished building as their new home. With both Savills and iPipeline in their new locations, there is a diverse and thriving business community being built.”
