One of Bristol’s oldest property consultancies has merged with one of the local sector’s fastest-growing businesses.

Chartered surveyors ETP, which was founded in 1878, has announced a deal with fellow South West firm CSquared which it says creates a multi-million pound turnover business.

The combined firm will trade under the name CSquared and operate from two locations, the current ETP head office on Alma Road in Clifton - until a larger premises is secured - and also the CSquared office in Bath, which will also be relocated.

The new business will be led by six equity partners - three from each firm - and there are currently more than 25 employees across the two offices, with the company saying its headcount was “increasing rapidly”.

The senior leadership team said it had adopted the CSquared name due to the younger company’s quick success in building its brand, which saw it expand its services, open a Bristol office and hire “well-known names” within the local industry.

The businesses said the move would give the firm the expertise to go “head-to-head” with the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s largest property services conglomerates.

ETP director Edward Le Masurier of ETP said: “CSquared have already achieved admirable traction in the Bristol market, and our combined practice is the first new independent business of scale in the area for 30 years.

“This alone is a remarkable feat and to do so ahead of the recent turbulence in the market is testament to the quality of advice and service provided by both our businesses, and the strength of the client relationships we hold.”
