Hargreaves Lansdown appoints Virgin Group boss as chief financial officer

Amy Stirling will join the Bristol-based firm next year

Financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown has announced the appointment of Amy Stirling as its next chief financial officer, succeeding Philip Johnson.

Ms Stirling, who is the current chief financial officer of the Virgin Group, where she has been part of the senior leadership team since September 2016.

Ms Stirling will take up her new role with the Bristol-based company in February 2022 and will also join it’s board as an executive director.

She has previously been finance chief at telecommunications giant TalkTalk and The Prince's Trust, as well as non-executive director and chair of Pets At Home and the Audit and Risk Committee at the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Cabinet Office.

Hargreaves Lansdown said Ms Stirling would be stepping down from her current roles on the boards of Virgin Money and RIT Capital Partners by summer 2022, on a date to be agreed.

Ms Stirling said: "The entrepreneurial roots and client service culture of Hargreaves Lansdown combined with a growing addressable market makes it a really exciting company to be joining.

“I am looking forward to working with Chris [Hill, chief executive at Hargreaves Lansdown] and the team to help play a part in its next chapter of growth."
