Manchester is a key financial services hub

Greater Manchester’s mayoral candidates have been urged to show their support for the region’s financial and professional services sectors to help them “unleash their full potential”.

TheCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ, which lobbies for the financial and related professional services industry in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, has issued a manifesto for Greater Manchester.

It says candidates need to “commit to practical and effective measures that will drive growth across the region and unleash the full potential of financial and related professional services to support that agenda”.

Greater Manchester is a key º£½ÇÊÓÆµ hub for financial and related professional services.

TheCityº£½ÇÊÓÆµ’s ‘shows the sector employs some 141,000 people in the city region. The report also shows the industry contributes 22.3% to the Gross Value Added (GVA) of the city of Manchester alone.

Across the North West more widely, the industry accounts for 9.4% of regional GVA and employs 289,000 people.
