Greater Manchester’s mayoral candidates have been urged to show their support for the region’s financial and professional services sectors to help them “unleash their full potential”.
TheCity海角视频, which lobbies for the financial and related professional services industry in the 海角视频, has issued a manifesto for Greater Manchester.
It says candidates need to “commit to practical and effective measures that will drive growth across the region and unleash the full potential of financial and related professional services to support that agenda”.

TheCity海角视频’s ‘shows the sector employs some 141,000 people in the city region. The report also shows the industry contributes 22.3% to the Gross Value Added (GVA) of the city of Manchester alone.
Across the North West more widely, the industry accounts for 9.4% of regional GVA and employs 289,000 people.
TheCity海角视频 has set out three key goals:
- Engaging the industry –TheCity海角视频 says the mayor will need to work closely with the industry “to develop a comprehensive and measurable economic growth strategy for the region”.
- Focusing on people and skills –the organisation says the mayor should “use their convening power” to ensure that Local Skills Improvement Plans reflect the growth needs of the sector as well as the wider regional economy.
- Driving prosperity – TheCity 海角视频 says “the elected metro mayor should work closely with central government to boost investment in improved transport infrastructure and strategy for smoother movement of people and goods and attracting more investment to Greater Manchester”.
