A software firm that specialises in helping employees stay in touch has won investment to help it grow further.

StaffCircle, founded by Leicester tech entrepreneur Mark Seemann, will use the £775,000 to build its sales and marketing team and expand its client base.

It secured the money in a funding round led by Blackfinch Investments and which included the MEIF Proof of Concept & Early Stage Fund. That fund is managed by Mercia and is part of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.

StaffCircle is an HR platform designed to help SMEs improve internal communications and engage with and manage employees in different locations.

Mr Seemann founded StaffCircle in 2017 after building and selling three previous software businesses.

The company employs 10 people and now plans to take on another five.

The latest funding follows a £250,000 investment from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund in 2019.

Mr Seemann said: “This platform is about interacting with staff and empowering them but perhaps more importantly, at a time like this, it’s also about maintaining communication when businesses are not able to do so face to face.”
