EY to create 91 jobs in Northern Ireland as firm goes on island-wide hiring spree

The new hires will take the firm’s headcount on the island of Ireland to 4,200

Frank O'Keeffe, EY Ireland Managing Partner

Professional services firm EY has announced the creation of 91 new jobs in Northern Ireland as part of an island-wide hiring spree.

The firm said it is hiring a total of 816 positions split across audit, tax, corporate finance, technology, analytics, cyber security, law, economics and sustainability.

Once in place, the new hires will take the firm’s headcount on the island of Ireland to 4,200.

Over 600 of the jobs will be based at EY's Dublin headquarters while the remainder will be spread across its Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford offices, as well as the 91 in Northern Ireland.

EY said 414 of the experienced hire roles will be filled by the end of the firm’s financial year in June 2022 while a further 402 will be filled by university graduates from this autumn.

The firm said the hiring spree is the result of growth across its business “which has necessitated a greater demand for talent across a diverse range of skillsets and specialisms”.

An Taoiseach Mr Micheál Martin T.D. welcomed the announcement.

“While COVID-19 has changed the way we live, work and do business, we have seen that there is enormous opportunity for businesses to evolve as the world around us also continues to adapt. Today’s announcement speaks to EY’s success in seizing this opportunity and in supporting Ireland’s ongoing recovery with strong growth and ambition for the future.”
