EY to create 340 new jobs in Birmingham as it pledges to treble its headcount by 2026

EY wants to increase its consulting headcount in the West Midlands to around 500 over the next four years

EY's Midlands managing partner Simon O'Neill

Professional services business EY looks set to create 340 new jobs in Birmingham over the next four years.

The company wants to treble the size of its Birmingham consulting practice by 2026, increasing its team from 160 to more than 500 people.

The move forms part of EY's wider plans to double the size of its national consulting practice which will see its headcount go from 5,100 to 10,200.

More than half of the new roles will be based outside of London, in cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

EY says the expansion is being fuelled by an increasing demand from clients implementing large scale, strategic transformation programmes.

It will be backed by an investment of £75 million, which is in addition to the £95 million the firm has already invested since 2020.
