EY to create 1,200 jobs to more than double headcount in Manchester

EY has revealed plans to more than double the size of its business in Manchester over the next four years by making 1,200 new hires.

The accountancy giant, which is based in St Peter's Square, is expecting to grow its headcount from 800 to 2,000 by 2026 across technology, transformation, and strategy-focussed roles.

The firm added that expansion is being fuelled by the growth of its º£½ÇÊÓÆµ consulting business, which is led by partner Chris Gallagher across the North of England.

Stephen Church, Manchester office managing partner and north markets leader, said: "When it comes to recruiting tech talent, Manchester is a very attractive location to expand our º£½ÇÊÓÆµ consulting practice.

"I’m delighted that we have secured further investment to expand our business in the city, serving such a vibrant market that is recognised as the fastest growing digital and tech hub in Europe.
