Finance intermediary firm ABL Business has opened a North East office as part of its expansion plan.

The firm, which is headquartered in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, has opened the Durham office to add to its presence in Scotland, the North West, and the South West.

It says the opening means it is on track to realise its vision of being a nationally-recognised finance intermediary, with five regional bases, by 2022.

The North East site will be headed by Jonathan Barber, who brings 30 years’ of commercial experience, as well as a background in helping organisations across the North of England to grow via access to specialist financial products.

Andy Redman, joint managing director and co-founder at ABL Business, said: “The rise of the brand on the national stage will further support the team in providing exemplary advice to businesses on a local and regional level — utilising our deep understanding and collective insight into the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s commercial finance landscape.

“Local knowledge is crucial when it comes to building strong partnerships. When combined, our national training programme, share of knowledge, and access to the whole of the market from a funder perspective cements ABL as the finance intermediary of choice.”

Jonathan Barber, regional managing director for the North East office said: “ABL is fast becoming notable in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ finance industry. As such, I’m thrilled to be coming on board to develop additional partnerships within the region and to work closely with businesses and their advisors — and to contribute the learnings gained here to the wider team, which can then be applied on a country-wide basis.
