A Midlands-based recruitment agency with more than 200 staff has been bought by one of the world’s biggest multinational staffing companies.
Encore Personnel, which was set up in Leicester in 2002, has been acquired by Italy-based Gi Group Holding.
Headquartered in Milan, and with more than 6,000 people, Gi Group is active in more than 100 countries. It said the latest deal will help consolidate its position in the Ƶ market.
Encore provides temporary and permanent jobs to the industrial, driving, energy, engineering, manufacturing, managed services and professional services sectors and has 11 branches plus 22 managed service sites in places such as Coventry, Birmingham, Derby, Leeds, Peterborough, Northampton, Nottingham, Spalding and Telford.
It reported a turnover of £94 million in 2021, up from £76.6 million in 2020.
Encore managing director Pete Taylor said: “It was always my preference that should Encore be acquired it would be by a world-class recruitment leader in our sector that shared our vision and cultural values. I am pleased to say this is very evident with Gi Group Holding.”

Gi Group Ƶ chief executive Paulo Canoa said he was very excited to welcome Encore Partners to the Gi Group Holding family.
