Welcoming its latest tranche of apprentices, Leicestershire-based housebuilder Davidsons Homes has welcomed eight new recruits to its team in a variety of disciplines.

Encouraging new talent into the construction industry, the builder, which has its headquarters in Ibstock, has taken on three quantity surveyors, three carpenters and joiners, a bricklayer, and a business and administrative assistant in apprenticeship roles.

Jason Glover, operations director, said: "Apprenticeship schemes provide young people with the opportunity to work and earn money while they learn new skills and develop existing ones.  We’re a particularly strong advocate for these schemes, as they’re so important in attracting talented people into the construction industry."

Young people have a range of careers for to choose from in the industry from skilled positions on-site right through to office-based roles involving planning and architecture.

"We believe in investing in the future of housebuilding. It is vital in ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the industry and that we continue building homes that appeal to the ever-changing needs and aspirations of real people.

"We are thrilled to welcome our new apprentices on board and look forward to seeing them develop their skills and become an intrinsic part of the team in the months and years ahead."
