A wills and probate solicitor at a Derby law firm has joined a specialist group of lawyers which supports older and vulnerable people.

Davina Charlton, who works for Nelsons, which also has offices in Nottingham and Leicester, has become a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Davina, who qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and joined Nelsons in 2018, is one of just seven fully accredited members in the city.

Accredited solicitors have been judged to have a wealth of experience and training that helps put older and vulnerable people at ease when dealing with complex, life-changing issues.

Davina, who has specialised in wills and probate law since 2014, said: “Gaining this accreditation and becoming a member of Solicitors for the Elderly has always been something I’ve strived for since qualifying as a solicitor.

“Ensuring that the voice of the elder generation is heard is something that’s very important to me.

“Helping to take some pressure off someone’s shoulders at what can sometimes be very difficult times in their lives gives me great satisfaction as I know I am helping to put their minds at rest.”
