Derby entrepreneur Amelia Horne goes back to her roots as she joins Oviso Financial Services

Amelia Horne's business journey to date has come full circle. 

The well-known Derby businesswomen has gone back to her roots, joining Oviso Financial Services.

With the foundations of her career in estate agency and financial advice, she joins former colleagues Matt Simpson and Lee Mortimer, co-founders of Oviso.

Previously the founder of Jack Rabbits café opposite Oviso’s headquarters in Queen Street, Amelia said: "I am delighted to be working again in property and finance – they are my type of people – positive and client driven."

Amelia’s career began as an estate agent in 1992 with Ashley Adams in Sadler Gate and she moved into lettings with Professional Properties in 1995.

From 1998 to 2007 she was a financial advisor with Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), focusing on mortgages and protection from 1999.

She said: “Six years inside residential sales and lettings, along with the business relationships formed and extensive industry knowledge equipped me well when moving into financial services.

"Matt joined MAB in Feb 2002 as a trainee and I was his mentor and supervisor. After he qualified, we continued to work as a team until I exited the business in late 2007.  We have remained great friends, whilst I have also enjoyed a longstanding friendship with Lee, who joined Mortgage Advice Bureau in 2001."
