Accountancy giant Deloitte is set to create approximately 40 skilled jobs in the North East with the expansion of a new technology centre.
Deloitte has unveiled plans for four technology delivery centres to be established across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ – situated in Newcastle, Belfast, Cardiff and Manchester – designed to deliver tech-centric business solutions for clients nationwide.
Following a successful trial run at its Newcastle premises, Deloitte's Technology and Transformation wing is scheduled to commence operations in these hubs from June 1.

The initial Newcastle site started with a team of 25 and has experienced consistent growth. There are now ambitions to double the Tyneside workforce to 80 by 2028.
The announcement of the new centres was made by Deloitte º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's Senior Partner and CEO, Richard Houston, in the presence of Northern Ireland's First Minister Michelle O'Neill and Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly, reports .
Richard Bray, Deloitte's managing partner for regions, stated: "Investing across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ is a priority for Deloitte, and our technology centres are key to this ongoing commitment. I'm particularly excited about the opportunities these centres create for people wanting to start a new career in technology.
"We chose the North East as the pilot last year, initially hiring in a 25-strong cohort from a diverse pool of over 500 applicants - including individuals without prior technology experience, veterans, and those returning to work after a career break.
"We've since further grown the headcount to 40 people and our intention is to at least double this over the next three years. I look forward to welcoming many more talented individuals to Deloitte as we grow our business throughout the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and create jobs for the future."

The combined centres will initially consolidate 750 of Deloitte's skilled technologists to devise, construct and manage technology solutions tailored to the changing requirements of º£½ÇÊÓÆµ businesses, with a focus on app design, cloud engineering, and integrating AI into software, devices or systems, all aimed at aiding clients in their business transformation.
In addition to investing in talent and expertise, Deloitte's technology centres are set to expand, doubling their workforce to 1,500 within the next three years.
