A law firm is expanding its team following a recent move to new premises.

De Marco Solicitors, based in Coventry, has recruited solicitor Stuart Kelly who specialises in IT, intellectual property, media and commercial law while employment solicitor Katy Morgan Smith joins the practice this month.

De Marco recently moved into its own premises at Electric Wharf, a development of eco-homes and offices in the city's Sandy Lane, in order to grow its team of employment and business law specialists.

Sandra Garlick, principal of De Marco Solicitors who founded the firm in 2007, said the move marked a significant stage in its development.

"We had been looking for our own premises for some time and this was the right move as it provides us with the opportunity for further growth," she said.

"We have already been able to branch into a new area of law with the appointment of Stuart and will be taking on another solicitor in May to enhance our employment team.

"We have now grown to eight solicitors, making us one of the largest employment teams in Coventry and Warwickshire, and they will have the opportunity to work alongside our support staff from this new base and remotely for clients within the area and beyond.

"This move marks an exciting stage in our firm's own development and we are looking forward to building our team and our services from here."

Commercial property agency Bromwich Hardy oversaw the move which was the third deal at Electric Wharf for the consultancy in the last six months.

James Brookes, from Bromwich Hardy, said: "Commercial property rental and sale is definitely on the up in the Midlands and the Coventry market is certainly starting to move.

"Electric Wharf continues to hold very good values for both tenants and investors and we have completed a trio of office deals there in the past six months which leaves only one unit vacant along with a couple of investment opportunities."
