Management at a Nottingham based recruitment business are celebrating after reporting strong growth and job creation.
Distinct Recruitment has seen sales rise by more than a half last year as it added 10 new staff to its team.
The business has also doubled its office space in and Nottingham’s historic Lace Market, increasing its working space to 5,500sq ft and making a significant investment in refurbishing the new premises.
The firm specialises in recruitment for accountancy, finance, HR, IT and tech, marketing, office support, supply chain and procurement, data insights and analytics.
It has expanded into Milton Keynes and London, and with an eye to international expansion has put down roots across the pond, with new offices in New York and Boston.
Founder and chief executive James Calder said that has helped trigger an increase in the number of available vacancies across its recruiting sectors, such as for IT jobs, which were rising each month.
He said the growth was down to its people-centric values, investment in staff and collaborative approach.
He said: “People are at the heart of Distinct and thanks to our continued reinvestment and culture, we have grown from a very small team in 2016 to 42 people today.

He said the business had the foresight to invest in video technology long before video software became the norm over lockdown, allowing interviews to take place remotely and facilitating pre-job screening for firms recruiting new staff.
