Cardiff Breakfast Club reveal impressive speaker line up

Speakers will include the chief executives of Confused.com and SA Brain & Co

An impressive line-up of speakers, including the chief executives of SA Brain & Co and Confused.Com, has been revealed by Cardiff Breakfast Club.

The club, established 30 years ago and which holds its monthly events at the home of Glamorgan Cricket Club at the Sophia Gardens Stadium, launched its latest season in September, with speakers to date having included Wales football manager Ryan Giggs and Future Generations Commissioner for Wales Sophie Howe.

On December 4th the club will be addressed by head of partnerships for the Alacrity Foundation, Caroline Thompson.

Based in Newport, the Alacrity Foundation is a fast track 'entrepreneurial bootcamp' for graduates. Working in teams on complete they incorporate new tech businesses with seed funding and their own equity stakes.

 Companies that have come through the foundation include some of Wales’ most promising tech ventures such as  Learnium and Hut Six.

Ms Thompson previously headed up the BeTheSpark initiative, which she continues to support, which brings together stakeholders in the economy, including those in academia, government, as well as entrepreneurs, corporates and funders, to drive collaboration and ultimately boost productivity.

Ms Thompson, who began her career in banking, also led NatWest’s Entrepreneurial Spark accelerator hubs in Bristol and Cardiff.
