The former company secretary at renowned Birmingham institution Wesleyan Assurance Society is retiring after 34 years with the company.
Joe Roderick joined what was then the Medical Sickness Society in 1980 as an assistant accountant before becoming financial accountant and company secretary, continuing in those roles following its merger with Wesleyan in 1997.
Mr Roderick stepped down as company secretary at the start of 2014 but has continued in an advisory role ahead of his retirement next month when he says he plans to spend more time with his family, work on his golf swing and do volunteering.

He was succeeding in the post at the turn of the year by Doug Bright who has been with Wesleyan for 26 years in a number of senior roles including head of actuarial services, head of product strategy and development and head of risk.
Wesleyan chairman Bryan Jackson said: "Joe has been an integral part of the society over the years and his advice and experience will be missed.
"To spend three decades in senior positions at one organisation is a rare achievement.
"During that time, Joe has worked with a number of chairmen and chief executives to help guide the company through a period of huge change.
"I know everyone at Wesleyan wishes Joe a long and happy retirement."

"The society has gone through many changes over the years, not least the merger with the Medical Sickness Society, and I am proud to have played a part in its ongoing success.
