The Birmingham and West Midlands Society of Chartered Accountants has appointed a new president.
Celia Adams, a chartered accountant and business advisor, steps into the role having been involved with the society since 2008, most recently as chairman of the Worcestershire Group of Chartered Accountants.
She formally took over the reins at the society's 132nd AGM from Helen Drew, partner at chartered accountancy firm Crowe Clark Whitehill who has led the society over the past year.

Ms Adams is also a non-executive director of the trading company behind St Richard's Hospice, in Worcester, and sat as a financial expert on the University of Birmingham's audit committee from 2009 to 2012.
In her new role, she will support the society's members across Birmingham, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire including overseeing the delivery of a range of services such as courses, the annual awards luncheon and networking events.
She will be supported in her new role by deputy president Jasbir Khela, director at accountancy firm PwC, and vice-president Adam Stephens, director of transformation strategy at Homeserve.
Ms Adams said: "It is a great honour and privilege to be appointed president of the Birmingham and West Midlands Society.
"I have always been proud to be part of the society whose members have made such a contribution to the region's business community.
