David Morris has taken over as Midlands regional market leader at financial services firm PwC

Financial services and accountancy firm PwC has appointed a new head for the Midlands.

David Morris has taken over as Midlands regional market leader after incumbent Matthew Hammond moved into a new post after eight years.

His role sees him placed in overall charge of the firm's operations in Birmingham, Castle Donington and Milton Keynes.

Mr Morris has worked for PwC for more than 20 years and most recently led its work in the health services sector, including through the Covid-19 pandemic.

He has led the support for change programmes in the public sector, advising boards, regulators and central Government as well as being on the board of a number of large teaching hospitals.

He said: "It's a privilege to take on the role as Midlands leader. Having been born and raised in the Midlands, with a career journey that has taken me around the globe, it's a full-circle moment to be stepping into this role to help shape the future of the Midlands firm.

"The region has so much to offer, from being quite literally a place of 1,000 trades to the incredible talent and quality educational institutions we have on our doorstep.
