A finance expert who worked on some of Birmingham's biggest developments has been appointed director at property consultancy (LSH).

James Dair joins the company's Birmingham office from the city council where he was the authority's financial manager.

He led the financial work on the and redevelopment, the £500 million project and the city council's back office rationalisation programme.

Mr Dair also supported the early thinking around the interchange and Curzon Street sites for the proposed HS2 project.

He has now joined LSH's public sector team where he will provide advice and support to public bodies to develop delivery models aimed at providing greater synergy between the finance and property sector.

A qualified accountant by trade, Mr Dair said he was now keen to move into private practice having worked in local government finance for 17 years.

"I felt the time was right to extend my professional practice so when the opportunity came to work in Lambert Smith Hampton's public sector team, I had no hesitation at all in accepting the position," he said.

"I was impressed with the company's approach and believe that I will have the opportunity to consolidate my expertise to further develop the dynamic public sector team."
