High Field owner secures £9m funding to support hotel launch

NatWest backs Peach Pub Company with its expansion plans in Edgbaston

The High Field's owner has secured a £9.5m funding package

The owner of a popular Edgbaston pub and restaurant has secured a new funding package worth £9.5 million to support its launch of a new hotel in the Birmingham suburb.

The Peach Pub Company, which has agreed the deal with NatWest to fund the opening of a hotel next door.

Peach Pub, which launched in a Warwick pub in 2005, also runs The One Elm in Stratford and Star & Garter in Leamington Spa as part of a 17-strong portfolio of sites.

Finance director Joe Garthwaite said: "We are very selective about which locations we acquire as part of our expansion and the revolving credit facility will allow us to move quickly when our dream locations become available.

"The first new venture the funding is supporting is a boutique hotel next door to The Highfield - the High Field Town House which is opening in early June."

Nick Randle, relationship director with NatWest, added: "We are delighted to be able to support this successful local pub company with their ambitions and look forward to being part of their exciting growth."
