A Midlands flooring company has secured £490,000 in new capital to support the creation of new jobs and training for young carpet fitters.

Contract Flooring Solutions, which is headquartered in Rubery and also runs operations in Bromsgrove, Peterborough and Crawley, has agreed a deal with Finance Birmingham which will allow it to create at least 20 jobs over the next three years.

The company, which has 98 staff, supplies and installs flooring for housebuilders and commercial customers and hopes the new funding will enable it to secure additional contracts with large construction firms.

Managing Director Steve Day said: "The support we have received from Finance Birmingham will play a pivotal role in the growth of the business and allow us to take it to the next level.

"We pride ourselves on directly employing the vast majority of our carpet fitters as opposed to using sub-contracted labour.

"This ensures we can better control the quality of the installation and meet the demands of the end customer."

The funding has been provided by Finance Birmingham as part of its £9 million Regional Growth Fund - a pot of money open to SMEs across the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP area.

Ian Fairclough, Finance Birmingham's investment director, added: "Contract Flooring has grown rapidly over the past few years and has won many new contracts throughout the º£½ÇÊÓƵ with housebuilders such as Bovis and Barratt Developments.
