Aston Villa's chief financial officer Robin Russell has left the club

Robin Russell joined Villa in 2006 shortly after Randy Lerner took control of the club and also stepped in as interim chief executive following

Aston Villa have made no official announcement or comment on the departure of Mr Russell who was also company secretary and it is not clear what he is doing next or who will replace him.

Documents were filed with Companies House earlier this month to confirm he stepped down from the roles on February 11.

This is the latest shake-up of the Villa board following the recent appointments as chairman and

Mr Hollis is the former Midlands regional chairman of financial services firm KPMG and currently vice-chairman of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership.

Mr King was the governor of the Bank of England for ten years until 2013 and is a lifelong Aston Villa fan.
