A West Midlands law firm has expanded with a trio of acquisitions.

Askews Legal, which is headquartered in Coventry and also has a team in Solihull, has bought out Cocks Lloyd Solicitors in Nuneaton, Smalleys Solicitors in Nottingham and John Mohamed & Co in Bedworth.

As a result of the deals, Askews Legal has now doubled in size, both in terms of revenue and staffing which has gone from 60 to 120 employees.

In each of the three acquisitions, the existing partners were retiring and wanted their practices to be taken over.

All three firms have long-standing histories in their local town so their staff and office locations are being retained while retiring partners are assisting with the transition.

WEST MIDLANDS BUSINESS NEWS REVIEW OF 2024

Askews Legal's service offer covers a broad range of fields including criminal law, civil litigation, commercial property, family and conveyancing.

By pooling resources across the group, clients in Nuneaton, Bedworth and Nottingham will now have access to a wider range of legal services via their locally based solicitors.

Askews Legal said it would be going "fully digital" across the trio of acquired firms as part of a bid to streamline and automate processes.
