Fluid Ideas:
Staff numbers at creative agency Fluid Ideas have topped 40 following its latest recruitment drive.
Seven people have joined the Derbyshire agency in the past few months, taking overall staff numbers to a record high of 42.

The latest appointments mean its team has doubled in size in the past three years – and the agency is still recruiting for more posts.
Joint managing director Ed Bowler said new roles have been created to meet demand from new and existing clients.
Fluid Ideas, which began trading in 2004, is a full-service agency whose operations cover branding and campaigns, graphic and website design, computer-generated imagery, 3D animation and video, photography, copywriting, digital marketing, content management and social media.
Its client base spans sectors including healthcare, retirement living, property, professional services, education, finance, leisure and hospitality. The agency is based at Darley Abbey Mills, near Derby.
Fluid Ideas’ design and artwork team has been strengthened by the arrival of graphic designer and art worker Sammi Creighton.

She has 10 years’ experience in the field, including working at Aston Villa FC as a graphic designer and design manager.
Qasim Ali and Hailey Kim have joined the image and motion team. Qasim is a CGI artist who specialises in architectural visualisation.
Hailey is a videographer who makes short films in her spare time, some of which have been screened at movie festivals.
Holly Glasby and Poppy Marello have been appointed to Fluid Ideas’ search and social team. Holly is a social media specialist, a copywriter and designer. Poppy is a digital marketer and social media manager.
Fluid Ideas has also bolstered its web and systems team with the arrival of back-end web developer Ben Hodge and front-end specialist Gianluca Cerniglia.

Mitchells Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers:

Two new partners have been appointed at one of Derbyshire’s oldest firms of chartered accountants.
Laura Pain and Liz Fisher are the first female partners in Chesterfield-based Mitchells Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers’ 153-year history.
Tax and employer solutions specialist Liz and cloud accounting and start up expert Laura join Tim Leeman, Andrew McDaid and Tony Hornsby in leading the strategic direction of the firm.
They head up the firm’s tax and small business divisions respectively.
Their promotions recognise their long service and commitment to the continued growth of the business, particularly over the last 12 months.
Laura is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and her promotion comes 100 years after the registration of the first female chartered accountant in the world.
She said: “I am thrilled to have made a little bit of history in the firm.
“Being one of the first ever female partners at Mitchells is an incredible honour for me and I am proud that I can share it with Liz.”
Liz has been with Mitchells since leaving school in 1997, joining the firm in a part-time admin role after completing her A Levels.
She said: “Twenty-four years ago the head of sixth form at my school said that leaving education to take up a workplace traineeship would be the worst decision I’d ever make.
“I hope my recent promotion will inspire other young people currently at a crossroads over whether to choose higher education or the world of work.”
The firm has 40 staff.
Barratt Developments:
Barratt Developments chief financial officer Jessica White is stepping down from the board on June 30, for personal reasons. She will leave the business at the end of July.
The Coalville-headquarted housebuilder and commercial property developer – parent company for brands including Barratt Homes, Wilson Bowden and Barratt London – has launched a search for a new CFO.
Ms White said: “It was not an easy decision to step down after fifteen years with Barratt and Wilson Bowden, but it is the right thing for me at this time.
“I am proud of the role that I have played in both driving Barratt towards its medium term targets and embedding strength and resilience through the operating framework.
“I wish the whole Barratt team the very best for the future.”
Chairman John Allan said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Jessica for her valued contribution to the business during her 15 years with us, not only in her four years as CFO but also in her previous senior finance roles.
“As CFO, Jessica has been an integral member of our leadership team and has played an instrumental role in driving Barratt towards our medium-term targets.
“We wish Jessica every success for the future.”
Avant Homes Midlands:
Nottingham-based housebuilder Avant Homes Midlands has promoted Tim Hawkes to the newly created role of regional development director.
Tim has almost 20 years’ experience in the industry and joined Avant Homes Midlands in February 2020 as commercial director.
He will be responsible for leading the regional development team while overseeing the architectural, engineering, and commercial functions for the business.
He said: “As regional development director for the Midlands, I hope to apply my diverse industry experience to help continue to drive Avant Homes’ reputation as a housebuilder with a difference.
“I’ve had a passion for housebuilding since my first day in the industry as a commercial trainee almost 20 years ago, and I look forward to bringing that same passion to provide the business and the regional development team the best opportunity for success.”
Avant Homes currently has nine live developments in the region ranging from Ashbourne to Warwick.
Avant Homes Midlands also announced four further promotions across its regional operation including Amy Gormley and Natalie Hickman, who both take up the position of regional sales manager; Aaron Granger who has been appointed to group senior land manager; and Natalie Jarram who has been promoted to assistant sales manager.
Avant Homes is one of the 海角视频’s leading private residential property developers, and currently has 60 live developments being delivered by five regional operating companies
The group builds around 2,000 homes a year, has a turnover of circa £500 million and employs around 780 people in total.
Excello Law:
Real estate and property development lawyer Anil Kumar has joined national law firm Excello Law’s new Leicester office.
Anil qualified in 2004 and has expertise in land development transactions, real estate finance and landlord and tenant matters.
His clients range from developers, house builders, landowners and commercial property investors to banks and lending institutions in connection with secured lending transactions.
Anil has worked in the City of London for international law firms, a boutique property and planning practice and has also worked in-house leading the lending team for a Midlands based business bank.
He said: “My decision to join Excello was based on Excello being 100 per cent dedicated to consultant lawyers, the commitment to the East Midlands with the opening of the new office in Leicester, and also the prospect of reuniting with ex-colleagues and other well-respected lawyers that were known to me, all of whom advised me of their own positive experiences of working at Excello.

Marketing and advertising group Go Inspire has just announced two new hires with Dimitri Kyprianou and Ben Young joining the Leicester team.
Joining as proposition director, Dimitri Kyprianou has over 20 years’ experience working with some of the world’s leading customer communications service providers.
Dimitri’s diverse portfolio includes leading the implementation of an enterprise-wide, content marketing platform for a high street bank, and managing a digital transformation initiative for a 海角视频 financial services client seeking to optimise the use of postal and digital channels.
Also bringing a wealth of experience across print, digital and wider BPO solutions, Ben Young will take responsibility for the development of Go Inspire’s transactional communications offerings.
Ben is an outcomes focused customer communications specialist with a background in regulated markets including utilities, insurance, and financial services.
EWS:
Despite the global pandemic EWS – which provides clients with market information and intelligence to help deal with threats, counter-terrorism and conflicts – performed beyond expectations in 2020 and is already making great strides towards delivering even bigger results in 2021.
As a result of the growth and increasing global opportunities, the company, based in Long Bennington, Lincolnshire, has appointed Richard (Eddie) Edwards as its managing director.
Eddie will be responsible for delivering a three-year strategic plan for the business while contributing to its continued success.
It allows current MD Jon Gower to step up to become the chief executive.
As a cyber, intelligence and security business development professional, Eddie has worked in areas such as electronic warfare, C-IED and crypto environments.
His commercial experience, combined with a successful operational military career in the Royal Corps of Signals, means he is highly proficient in developing and executing key corporate strategies and is said to be ideally placed to lead the EWS management team.
Eddie said: “I am genuinely excited by the opportunity to join a unique company like EWS and, as managing director, to have a key role to play in helping them continue to grow and deliver on their promises to their partners and clients.”
