The man who will replace Ian Borley as the new boss of KMPG in the East Midlands has been announced.

Marc Abrams has been promoted to senior partner of the East Midlands practice, succeeding Ian Borley, who is stepping down ahead of retirement in April after nearly 35 years with the firm.

Marc, who is heading up the Leicester and Nottingham offices, has been with KPMG for 11 years, leading the firm鈥檚 tax practice in the region.

He has advised on some of the region鈥檚 highest profile transactions in recent years and worked with a range of businesses from privately owned to listed.

Ian Borley has been a leading figure in the local business community for years, having served on the CBI鈥檚 East Midlands Regional Council and been a board member of Leicestershire Business Voice 鈥 including six years as chair 鈥 and of the National Space Centre.

He was a trustee at the National Forest Charitable Trust and of the Richard III Visitor Centre, and has been an awards judge for the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust.

He was named non-executive of the year at the 2016 Leicester Mercury Business Executive of the Year Awards.
