Accountancy firm Albert Goodman expands Bristol team with senior hire

A South West accountancy practice has announced the appointment of its latest team member.

Albert Goodman, which has offices in Somerset, Bristol and Dorset has welcomed chartered accountant and senior manager Sam Wood to its newly opened Bristol office.

Having worked at specialist research and development tax credit consultancy ForrestBrown in Bristol for almost five years, Mr Wood has experience across accounts, audit, corporate and personal tax, plus experience in advisory and HMRC Enquiry Support Services for businesses undertaking research and development.

In his new role at Albert Goodman, Mr Wood will specialise in research and development tax for SME and RDEC businesses in all sectors and will be responsible for providing clients with specialist consultancy advice as well as wider corporation tax support.

Mr Wood will join the expanding business tax team, headed up by partner Tracey Watts, at the firm’s newly opened office in Bristol.

Mr Wood said: “I am excited to transfer my R&D tax expertise to a larger regional accountancy practice to support the growing demand from SMEs for this type of specialist tax advice, particularly at such a turbulent time in the world of R&D tax.
