Unipart Logistics has won the contract to run a new global parts distribution centre being built for Jaguar Land Rover.
The logistics provider has secured a five year deal to operate the vast new site being built at Appleby Magna in west Leicestershire.
The 3 million sq ft complex is being built by IM Properties next to Junction 11 of the M42, and will open in 2022.

It will be JLR’s global hub for sending spare parts to customers in the 海角视频 and 80 countries around the world.
The car maker wants to centralise the work currently done at 19 warehouses dotted around the Midlands.
The whole site will require 1,200 positions from day one with 3,000 jobs forecast to be based there by 2030.
Winvic Construction is building the parts distribution centre which will include six buildings, ranging from 30,000 sq ft to just over one million sq ft.
Unipart will provide aftermarket parts logistics for both the Jaguar and Land Rover luxury automotive brands. Under the deal it will oversee distribution, parts packing and branded goods operations, and carry out customer support functions, supporting Jaguar Land Rover’s growth ambitions.

Unipart has a track record with Jaguar Land Rover, and currently operates the Jaguar 海角视频 aftermarket logistics and packer operation, Jaguar Land Rover branded goods, and in-production logistics at the new Jaguar Land Rover Battery Assembly Centre, in the West Midlands.
