Deichmann's new º£½ÇÊÓƵ distribution site in Corby

The Deichmann shoe shop chain is creating 50 new jobs after opening a 165,000 sq ft warehouse in central England.

The business, which is reported to be Europe’s biggest shoe seller, has taken a lease on a 163,500 sq ft, purpose-built warehouse, in Northamptonshire.

The new º£½ÇÊÓƵ distribution facility at the Centrix Business Park, in Corby, is just a few miles from its º£½ÇÊÓƵ headquarters in Market Harborough.

The retailer said it chose Corby because of its central location for its network of 120 º£½ÇÊÓƵ stores and the proximity to the HQ, which it is retaining.

The warehouse, built by the site’s owners and developers Clowes Developments, has undergone a £3 million fit-out and will give Deichmann full autonomy to manage its stock and logistics.

The development was led by Winvic Construction and it has enough space to hold more than a million pairs of shoes.

Samuel Deichmann is executive board member at Deichmann SE and chairman of the board of directors at Deichmann-º£½ÇÊÓƵ Shoes Limited.

He said: “We are thrilled to open our brand new Corby warehouse.
