Flybe has said it will 'potentially' be making redundancies at its headquarters in Exeter.

It has not been revealed how many employees are affected by what is being described as 'restructuring' as part of rebranding to Virgin Connect this spring,

However, Flybe have said it will not impact on any of its front-line team of pilots, cabin crew and engineers. Instead the job loses will be in support and management roles.

Assurances have been made that Exeter will continue to operate as its headquarters, and no changes will be made to its current published schedules.

A spokesperson for Flybe said: "Flybe remains committed to fully maintaining its Exeter infrastructure which includes its headquarters, maintenance repair and overhaul facility and training academy.

Exeter Airport

"We plan to become Europe’s most loved and successful regional airline as we rebrand to Virgin Connect this spring. To do this we need to transform our business in order to best deliver heartfelt customer experiences and secure future profitability for long term growth and investment.

"One of the key pillars of this growth is a relentless focus on cost management, making sure that every penny our customers spend travelling with us offers great customer service and real value for money.

"Having looked at how we are structured to best achieve this, we plan to reduce the number of office support roles required at Exeter in particular, which may lead to potential redundancies.
